Timken Expands Lubrication Line with New Delivery Devices

Building on its extensive line of industrial lubricants, The Timken Company (NYSE: TKR) today announced the addition of several quality lubricant-delivery products, including grease guns, pumps and kits.

The new products will be introduced in the United States this month, and in Canada during the second quarter of 2008. The lubricant-delivery product line complements Timkens ability to go beyond bearing technology and provide friction management solutions that meet maintenance needs.

Proper lubrication is critical to machine performance and component longevity, and customers routinely turn to Timken for help in extending bearing life, said David A. Pierman, manager of Timkens lubricant and lubricant-delivery systems for the Distribution & Services group. Adding these lubricant-delivery devices to our product portfolio furthers our customers ability to achieve maximum machinery operation. Now they can use a Timken grease gun to deliver genuine Timken grease to their Timken bearings.

Research indicates that more than 50 percent of all bearing damage is related to inadequate or improper lubrication. These new lubricant-delivery products help advance Timkens strategy to aggressively strengthen its channel presence by extending its product lines around the bearing.

The guns and pumps are high-quality maintenance products that help decrease both machinery downtime and operating costs. They include:

  • Deluxe series lever-type grease gun with metal barrel
  • 18-volt battery-powered grease gun
  • Standard-duty, high-pressure 55:1 grease pump
  • Heavy-duty, high-pressure 55:1 grease pump
