MIAMI, Feb. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- The Yachts of Seabourn has posted cruising schedules and fares for its intimate, all-suite Seabourn Pride, Spirit and Legend for the last three quarters of 2009 and the first quarter of 2010 on the company's website at www.seabourn.com, and made the cruises available for booking. The schedules reveal the line's strategy for expanding Seabourn's itinerary options when the newly built Seabourn Odyssey debuts in mid-2009. They also highlight new ports including St. Raphael, Bandol and Antibes on the French Riviera; Opatija and Split in Croatia; Brindisi, Bari, and Trieste, Italy and Lundy Island and the Isles of Scilly in the United Kingdom. All told, the cruising schedules encompass 220 ports in 66 countries on five continents. A cruise atlas for 2009 and the first quarter of 2010 will be published in April.
"2009 will be the most exciting year for Seabourn since its founding," according to the line's president and CEO, Pamela C. Conover. "Seabourn Odyssey will be the first new ultra luxury ship to debut in six years," she explained, "and her arrival will expand our ability to offer travelers a wider range of destinations than ever before -- from big cities whose names appear in bold type on the map, to smaller, more unusual places that we have discovered in between, places we call 'Seabourn Secrets'."
Starting in June, Seabourn Spirit, which had previously sailed the Eastern Mediterranean where Seabourn Odyssey will be deployed, will inaugurate three new 7-day itineraries sailing between Civitavecchia (for Rome) and Venice. The new itineraries mix Italian ports in the Adriatic and Tyrrhenian Seas with a selection of appealing islands on the Dalmatian Coast of Croatia, Slovenia and Montenegro. New ports added to the itineraries in 2009 include Opatija and Split, Croatia and Bari, Brindisi and Trieste, Italy. Each of the itineraries features a harbor specifically selected for the ship to anchor and deploy its water sports marina for a popular day of fun in the sea and sun, conditions permitting. These include Triluke Bay, Croatia and the Gulf of Squillace in Calabria, Italy.
After cruising briefly in the Mediterranean in the spring of 2009, Seabourn Pride's schedule includes a 14-day Rivers of Western Europe voyage from Lisbon to Dover, and an 11-day voyage from Dover to Copenhagen that encompasses some unusual British Isles (Lundy Island, and the Isles of Scilly) as well as France, Belgium and an overnight in Amsterdam. Pride will spend the summer sailing in the Baltic, Russia and Norway. In September, Pride will return to London, and onward to Lisbon. At that point, Seabourn Pride will turn eastward, cruise the length of the Mediterranean to Piraeus, Greece and, in October, follow the route that in recent years had been sailed by Seabourn Spirit, through the Suez Canal, Red Sea and Arabia to the Indian Ocean and Southeast Asia.
Seabourn Spirit, which has not been in the Americas since 2002, will sail transatlantic from Lisbon on November 15, and end 2009 sailing in the Caribbean, before starting a 74-day circumnavigation of South America in January of 2010.
Seabourn Legend, in the Western Mediterranean, will add more new ports to its 7-day sailings between Nice, Monte Carlo, Barcelona and Civitavecchia. Riviera harbors include St. Raphael, Bandol and Antibes, where the ship stays overnight. Bonifacio, Corsica and Poltu Quatu, on Sardinia's tony Costa Smeralda, also return.
