Hong Kong celebrities knighted by The Knights of Malta

The Secretariat of the Magisterial House O.S.J. Malta  and Her Royal Excellency Mom Luang Rajadarasri Jayankura have successfully held the solemn investiture of Knights and Dames in Bangkok, Thailand, to recognize those who make significant contributions to various aspects of a society and also to praise and honor them for their humanitarian and charitable efforts. Hong Kong celebrities, including Amanda Lau and Fanny Sieh have been knighted by the Order, and out of which, Ms Amanda Lau is also the youngest candidate ever to be knighted in the Greater China region.

The Order of Malta, also known as a club for wealthy European aristocrats, is one of the few Orders founded in the Middle Ages and it still plays an active and constructive role in today’s day and age. The Order has now become a major international humanitarian organization whose hospitals and humanitarian operations are being managed effectively in more than 120 counties. Important political and historical figures, such as the former President of South Africa Nelson Mandela who has been commendably knighted by the Order before.
