Naturpac EcoChoice Sustainability Education Free for Australian Children

By: Get News
Naturpac is a leading Australian company devoted to empowering consumers with eco-friendly products and education. Its EcoChoice Sustainability Education program was recently made free for Australian children.

Naturpac has been providing the leading packaging alternatives for more than 18 months, characterized by significantly higher eco-friendliness in comparison to packaging found in major contemporary stores across Australia.

Since its founding, a core pillar of Naturpac’s mission was its commitment to educating the behavioral habits of future consumers. Its critically acclaimed sustainability education platform EcoChoice was recently made free to use for all Australian children due to high demand and superb efficiency.

EcoChoice is a web-based portal featuring activities and resources targeting primary school students. It is comprised of five modules and more than thirty activities and videos, covering important topics such as but not limited to key terms and ideas in sustainability, activities guiding children to value and actively improve their environmental choices, and more.

“We originally conceived this as a face-to-face program,” said Michael Williams, General Manager of J-Tech Systems, the company powering Naturpac, “and it got great response from councils and schools alike. However, continuing COVID restrictions made it difficult for the various councils and schools interested to schedule and commit to sessions.” This inspired Naturpac to digitize EcoChoice.

“We wanted to avoid any barriers to entry for EcoChoice online because it offers such important sustainability information that is easy and simple for future generations to understand,” said Mitch Pursehouse, Product & Sales Manager. He continued, imparting the following:

“The system is free to use and requires no logins so that everyone can self-navigate and learn at their own pace and ability.”

Naturpac worked with digital agency Soto Group to develop a series of online e-learning modules that would teach children how they can be involved in making sustainable decisions at home, at school, and in the wider community.

Series of videos, interactive games, puzzles, and downloadable resources are available on the EcoChoice platform, which can be used at home or on a tablet. To support teachers, a Resources section was developed with projects that can be utilized in a classroom setting.

EcoChoice launched before the Term 3 school holidays, providing parents with access to free activities for their children that are not only a great way of keeping the children entertained but also deliver important education on how to create a better planet.

“We are really excited to share the platform ahead of immediate and future school holiday windows,” continued Williams. “We are still scheduling face-to-face sessions but demand has always meant that a digital option enables us to help as many people and communities as possible to nurture the sustainability viewpoint of tomorrow’s shoppers.”

The main mission of Naturpac is not just to provide eco-friendly packaging to the fresh produce industry but also to educate the entire community about environmentally-friendly packaging and its long-term benefits to the environment.
